An L Spa Experience
Our Spa Guidelines will help you enjoy your experience to the fullest. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines and reach out to one of our Reservation specialists with any questions, allergies, or medical conditions, including pregnancy.
Treatment Selection
Our Reservation Specialists are able to assist you with a treatment plan that suites your needs. Whether you`re planning a tranquil escape or in hopes of working towards a treatment goal, we can guide you into making the best possible treatment selections.
Arriving Early
Make the most of your spa experience! Our goal is to ensure you fully enjoy your time with us. Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to give yourself time to check-in, complete the necessary in-take forms, leave the world behind, slip into a robe, unwind and start your treatment relaxed and on time. (You may also choose to enjoy a Far Infrared Sauna, steam or rain shower to receive full treatment benefits).
Arriving Late
Sometimes circumstances prevent you from arriving on time. Please call the spa if your are running late. We will try to reschedule your appointment. If rescheduling is not possible, then your treatment will start and end as scheduled so that the next guest can enjoy their treatment. (Full charges will apply).
In-Take Forms
The L Spa and Wellness Centre has an extensive in-take form to ensure that we are prioritizing your health and wellbeing. If you are a first time spa guest we ask that you arrive well in advance of your treatment time to allow for in-take form completion. This will allow us to provide you with the best course of treatment. Please be aware that we update in-take forms every 6 months to ensure that we are aware of any changes that may have happened with your health.
Attire
At the time of your arrival to the L Spa we will provide you with spa slippers and a locker key. Your locker will contain a spa robe that you may change into. As you will be draped during your treatment, we suggest you simply wear a robe and slippers. Undergarments are optional. If you are not comfortable changing into spa attire, you may choose to change in the treatment room. You are welcome to bring your own robe for added comfort .
Cellphones, Pagers, Jewellery & Children
This is your time! Thank you for turning off electronic devices. We also invite you to make arrangements for your children before you arrive so that you and other guests may enjoy your experience to the fullest. Finally, you may want to leave treasured jewellery at home, as we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
Comfort
Your time at the L Spa & Wellness Centre is precious and you should delight in the experience in the fullest. Please be sure to tell us if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience. Whether it is adjusting the temperature of your bed, the amount of massage pressure, or the volume of music, please communicate your preferences or special needs. Our state-of-the-art pedicure lounge features individually remote controlled shiatsu massage options and a flat screen TV and privacy curtains for each station.
Pregnant Guests
Please consult with your physician before visiting the spa, and let our associates know that you are pregnant when your schedule your appointment so that we may properly prepare for your treatment. Pregnancy massage will only be scheduled once you have reached your second trimester.

We are dedicated to maintaining a serene spa environment, one of tranquility and relaxation, so please respect other guests’ right to privacy and quiet.
Spa Communication
Please tell us about any allergies, ailments, medical conditions or disabilities when you book your appointment, and/or when you check in. The more information we have the better. Some of our treatments are not recommended for guests that are pregnant, have high blood pressure or heart conditions, are healing from recent surgery, have allergies or are undergoing oncology treatment.
Please notify us at the time of booking of:
- Allergies
- Recent surgeries
- Pregnancy
- Any physical ailments including cardiac problems, epilepsy, cancer or diabetes. Should you be affected by an of the aforementioned conditions please consult with a physician prior to your visit. Please ensure to inform your therapist of any conditions that my impact the therapies you have booked.
- If you or anyone accompanying you is under the age of 16, parental supervision is mandatory. All young adults and children over the age of 12 are welcome as spa guests. Parental permission, including health information is required in writing and the parent must remain in the therapy room during the service. Unfortunately due to the nature of the spa and keeping the consideration of other guests in mind the spa is not suitable for infants or children under the age of 12.

Body Therapy
Pre-Care Advice

- Refrain from waxing or shaving 24hrs prior to a scheduled body therapy.
- Refrain from sunbathing or tanning for 24-48hrs prior to a scheduled body therapy.
- Inform us if you are sunburnt
- Inform us of any allergies, diseases or disorders that may be present in the treatment area.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a body therapy.
- Inform us if you are expectant or breastfeeding.
- Refrain from planning special events or activities post therapy as product used may soil hair.
Body Therapy Aftercare Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Maximize the benefits of your body therapy by allowing product to remain on body for the remainder of the day.
- Promote toxin release by drinking plenty of water for the next 48 hours.
- Reinforce immune, circulatory & digestive system by eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Do not eat a large / heavy meal for the next 24 hours as your body will continue to detoxify.
- Avoid stimulants such as alcohol, caffeine or fizzy drinks for at least 24 hours.
- Consider routinely scheduling body treatments to gain long-lasting effects.
- Exfoliate body at least once per week.
- Exercise regularly to promote circulation.
Schedule your next body therapy within 4 weeks, unless otherwise recommended by your body specialist.
Massage Therapy
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Refrain from sunbathing or tanning for 24-48hrs prior to a scheduled therapy.
- Refrain from using any pain medication or any other substances that may alter the way touch and pressure is perceived.
- Inform us of any injury that may have occurred within 24hrs of a scheduled therapy.
- Inform us if you are sunburnt
- Inform us of any allergies, diseases or disorders that may be present in the treatment area.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a therapy.
- Inform us if you are expectant or breastfeeding.
- Refrain from planning special events or activities post therapy as product used may soil hair.
After Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Maximize the benefits of your massage therapy by allowing product to remain on body for the remainder of the day.
- Promote toxin release by drinking plenty of water for the next 48 hours.
- Reinforce immune, circulatory & digestive system by eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Do not eat a large / heavy meal for the next 24 hours as your body will continue to detoxify.
- Avoid stimulants such as alcohol, caffeine or fizzy drinks for at least 24 hours.
- Exercise regularly to promote circulation but avoid strenuous activity after massage therapy.
- Avoid sunbathing, tanning, saunas and steam rooms for up to 12 hours post therapy.
- Maintain good posture to help enhance the benefits of massage therapy.
- Take care driving home as reflexes may be slower.
Soreness may be experienced for 24 hours or more after a massage. Gentle stretching and a warm bath or shower will help promote toxin build up and relax muscles. It is recommended to schedule body work sessions every 1 to 4 weeks, unless otherwise recommended by your therapist.
Facial Therapy
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Refrain from exfoliating, using at home peeling systems, facial shaving or facial waxing prior to a face therapy.
- Refrain from sunbathing or tanning 24 – 48 hrs prior to a face therapy.
- Inform us if skin is sunburnt
- Inform us of any hypersensitivities, allergies, diseases or disorders that may affect the treatment.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a face therapy.
- Inform us of any topical or oral medication used for the treatment of acne.
- Inform us of any recent resurfacing treatments, peels and microdermabrasion.
- Inform us of any fillers, botox or cosmetic procedures that may have been performed in the treatment area.
- Refrain from planning special events or activities post therapy as product used may soil hair, particularly face therapies which include scalp massage.
Aftercare Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Maximize the benefits of your face therapy by allowing product to remain on skin for the remainder of the day.
- Avoid wearing non-mineral make-up for up to 6 hours post therapy.
- Drink plenty of water and follow a healthy, balanced diet.
- Avoid smoking & alcohol.
- Avoid direct heat such as saunas, tanning and hot showers for up to 48 hours post therapy.
- Reapply sunscreen to protect against UV rays.
- Promote cellular hydration by drinking plenty of water for the next 48 hours
- Reinforce the skin by following a healthy, balanced diet.
- Always cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin to prevent loss of moisture, protect the skin from make-up and keep the skin soft and supple.
- Refrain from sleeping with makeup as this may result in premature aging.
- Refrain from applying any exfoliating skin care products for up to 72 hours post therapy.
- Do not undertake any other skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a facial.
Schedule your next facial therapy within 4 weeks unless otherwise recommended by your skin specialist.
TriPollar
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Hydrate skin sufficiently by consuming plenty of water the day prior and on the day of a scheduled appointment.
- Refrain from exfoliating, using at home peeling systems, facial shaving or facial waxing prior to a face therapy.
- Refrain from sunbathing or tanning 24 – 48 hrs prior to a face therapy.
- Inform us if skin is sunburnt
- Inform us of any hypersensitivities, allergies, diseases or disorders that may affect the treatment.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a face therapy.
- Inform us of any topical or oral medication used for the treatment of acne.
- Inform us of any recent resurfacing treatments, peels and microdermabrasion.
- Inform us of any fillers, botox or cosmetic procedures that may have been performed in the treatment area.

- Reinforce the skin by following a healthy, balanced diet.
- Refrain from applying any exfoliating skin care products for up to 72 hours post therapy.
- Do not undertake any other skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a face therapy.
- Drink plenty of water and have a light meal.
- Perform some form of cardiovascular exercise post body session to facilitate toxin release, e.g. Vibra Pro 5500 or brisk walking.
- For added results specialised therapies may be added to TriPollar (Enhance facial TriPollar session with an O2 Blast or enhance a body TriPollar session with a Detox Body Therapy, etc.)
- Additional home care may include the use of spa products (targeted products for anti-ageing purposes, cellulite, stretch marks, etc.)
- Therapy success is dependent on 50% of what therapist does (treatment) and 50% of what clients does (home care).
Treatment should be administrated once a week for at least 4-6 weeks, few maintenance treatments are recommended every 4-8 weeks, according to individual needs, to sustain long term results
Eyelash &/or Brow Tinting
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Remove contact lenses prior to a tint service.
- Refrain from wearing waterproof mascara on the day of your appointment.
- Waxing therapies should always follow a tinting services and should never be performed prior.
- Inform us of any allergies, diseases or disorders that may be present in the treatment area.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a tinting services.
Aftercare Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Avoid rubbing eyes post treatment.
- Keep lashes dry for at least 24 to 48 hours.
- Avoid heat treatments or sunbathing for 24 hours as this may diminish results.
- Avoid wearing contact lenses for the rest of the day.
- Do not apply make-up or receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after your treatment (Oil based make up remover may cause tint to fade faster).
Although we do our best to remove all traces of dye, it is possible that residue may remain. Your next tinting appointment should be scheduled within 4- 6 weeks, based on the growth cycle of eyelash & eyebrow hair.
Manicure
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Please inform us of any gel-polish applications on nails prior to booking as additional removal time is required.
- Do not attempt to peel, pick or file away gel-polish as this may result in damage to the natural. We recommend scheduling a removal to preserve the current condition of your nails.
- The L Spa and Wellness Centre does not provide artificial services such as gels, acrylics, nail extensions, rebuilding/ sculpting of a nail or nail repairs.
- Refrain from cutting or biting nails as enough free edge is necessary to provide a lasting service.
- Inform us of any hypersensitivities, allergies, diseases or disorders that may be present.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a manicure.
After Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Allow time after your manicure for nails to completely dry before leaving the L Spa and Wellness Centre.
- Protect polish and gel application by avoiding heavy duties including those involving the use of chemicals.
- Rubber gloves should be worn as water and detergents will weaken the nails and have a drying effect on the skin and they will prolong the life of your polish or gel application.
- Do not use nails as tools or apply extra pressure on nails as this may result in shortened wear time.
- Use a nail file to smooth any chips.
- Avoid using metal nail files.
- Do not bite, pick, cut or lift polish or gel as it will shorten the wear time.
- Apply hand cream regularly and massage cuticles with a cuticle treatment cream or oil.
- Drink plenty of water as this helps strengthen the nails and hydrates the skin and is essential part of maintaining a healthy body.
- Follow a healthy balanced diet to help nail disorders.
- Hand exercises are recommended to keep joints supple.
- Use non-acetone nail polish remover to prevent nails from drying out.
- Avoid intense heat for 24 hours after application as saunas and tanning beds may cause discolorations and shorten wear time.
- Denim and darker clothing dyes may transfer onto gel polished nails. A non-acetone nail polish remover may be used to remove discoloration.
- NOTE: The L Spa and Wellness Centre has a 48 hour Policy to fix any gel polish related problems that may occur within this period of time. The L Spa team must be notified of any gel polish related concerns within this 48 hour period.
It is recommended to schedule hand therapies every 2 to 4 weeks.
Pedicure
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Refrain from exfoliating, shaving or waxing prior to a pedicure.
- Please inform us of any gel-polish applications on nails prior to booking as additional removal time is required.
- Do not attempt to peel, pick or file away gel-polish as this may result in damage to the natural. We recommend scheduling a removal to preserve the current condition of your nails.
- The L Spa and Wellness Centre does not provide artificial services such as gels, acrylics, nail extensions, rebuilding/ sculpting of a nail or nail repairs.

Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Allow time after your foot therapy for nails to completely dry before leaving the L Spa and Wellness Centre.
- Flip flops and open toed shoes are recommend after a pedicure including a polish application.
- Avoid tight fitting footwear which may result in bone and nail deformities.
- Wear cotton socks as they allow the feet to breathe absorb perspiration.
- Pay special attention to drying in-between the toes after showering and bathing.
- Do not cut the toe nails too short or down the sides as this may result in ingrown nails.
- A nail file may be used to smooth any chips.
- Do not pick, cut or lift polish or gel as it will shorten the wear time.
- Apply specialized foot care regularly and massage cuticles with a cuticle treatment cream or oil.
- Drink plenty of water as this helps strengthen the nails and hydrates the skin and is essential part of maintaining a healthy body.
- Follow a healthy balance diet to help nail disorders.
- Use non-acetone nail polish remover to prevent nails from drying out.
- Avoid intense heat for 24 hours after application as saunas and tanning beds may cause discolorations and shorten wear time.

Regular foot therapies are recommended every 2 to 4 weeks, unless otherwise recommended by your therapist. Our Advanced Foot Therapy is ideal for diabetic and senior feet, including those struggling with specific foot ailments and conditions.
Epilation Therapy
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Allow hair to grow to approximately ½cm prior to a waxing appointment.
- Exfoliate 24hrs prior to your appointment to lift away dead skin cells and trapped hairs.
- During certain times of a woman’s cycle and during pregnancy skin may be more sensitive to waxing.
- When considering the use of pain management, take an over the counter reliever approximately 30 minutes prior to a waxing session.
- Inform us of any allergies, diseases or disorders that may be present in the treatment area.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a wax service.
- Inform us of any topical or oral medication used for the treatment of acne.
- Inform us of any recent resurfacing treatments, peels and microdermabrasion.
Aftercare Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Redness, slight discomfort, small bumps are all common, normal and temporary after waxing.
- In the case of facial waxing avoid make up to the area unless mineral make up is applied such as Jane Iredale.
- For a 24 hour period keep the following in mind:
- Keep waxed area dry and avoid heat and friction.
- Avoid hot baths showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
- Avoid saunas, hot tub or sauna treatments.
- Avoid tanning and sunbathing.
- Avoid sports, exercising or any other activity that may result in perspiration and/ or friction.
- Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
- Wear clean, loose fitting and absorbent clothes.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
- Do not apply any deodorant, body sprays, body lotions or perfumed products.
- Do not undertake any other skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a waxing treatment.
- Exfoliants may be used once a week to help reduce the formation of ingrown hairs. Also avoid tight clothing which may result in friction and the formation of ingrown hairs.
- Hair should be at least ½cm long before it can be epilated successfully. Please refrain from shaving between appointments.
It is recommended to schedule a facial waxing session every 3 to 4 weeks and a body waxing session every 4 – 6 weeks to allow the hair growth cycle to be treated and for regrowth to be reduced.
Make Up
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Inform us of any hypersensitivities, allergies, diseases or disorders that may affect a make up application.
- Inform us of any previous allergic reactions that you may have experienced during a make up application.
After Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following home care guidelines:
- Avoid swimming, heat treatments such as sauna, steam or hot tubs and warm environments.
- It is recommended to purchase foundation, eye shadow and lipstick for touch ups throughout the day.
- It is recommended to use a fixative or setting spray (Jane Iredale Pom Mist) to prolong make up wear time
- Make up should be removed at the end of the day. Use oil based eye make up remover for stubborn eye make up and waterproof mascara.
- If redness or irritation occurs, remove make up and apply a cold compress.
Far Infrared Sauna
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Consume plenty of water prior to and during a Far Infrared Sauna Session.
- Cleanse the body of any products such as lotions and oils that may prevent the body from perspiring and detoxifying effectively.
- Refrain from sunbathing or tanning 24-48hrs prior to a Far Infrared Sauna Session.
- Refrain from using the Far Infrared Sauna while taking medication, using recreational drugs or under the influence of alcohol.
- Refrain from using the Far Infrared Sauna when pregnant or breastfeeding.
After Care Advice
- Take a shower or bath immediately afterwards to rid your body of the toxin release.
- Promote toxin release by drinking plenty of water for the next 48 hours.
- Reinforce immune, circulatory & digestive system by eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Do not eat a large / heavy meal for the next 24 hours as your body will continue to detoxify.
- Avoid stimulants such as alcohol, caffeine or fizzy drinks for at least 24 hours.
- Take care driving home as reflexes may be slower.
Vibra Pro 5500
Pre-Care Advice
Please take a moment to review the following pre-care guidelines:
- Avoid restrictive clothing when using the Vibra Pro 5500.
- Inform us at the time on any injuries that may affect a Vibra Pro 5500 session.
- Refrain from using the Vibra Pro 5500 while taking medication, using recreational drugs or under the influence of alcohol.
- Refrain from using the Vibra Pro 5500 when pregnant, injured or suffering from osteoperosis.
