Beautiful stained glass doors welcome you to one of Northern Alberta’s premier spas and wellness centres. Since opening its doors in the winter of 2007, The L Spa & Wellness Centre has grown from year to year becoming one of Canada’s top ranking spas with numerous awards and accolades.
Each detail of the L Spa was carefully designed to encourage energy flow by incorporating elements such as fire, water, air and earth. Winding hallways lined with warmth and elegance lead you to a tranquil setting where a sense stimulating journey awaits spa guests. The beautiful design paired with an exceptional team has made this one of Grande Prairie’s most sought after escape havens.
In 2009 the L Spa was the first to introduce a Membership Program to Grande Prairie. The response was overwhelming and since its initial launch the L Spa has built on the success of this program. Always striving to exceed guest expectations, the L Spa rejected the cookie cutter spa concept and broke the mold by offering innovative therapies and striving to be the first with many endeavours.
The L Spa was one of the first spas to become a member of Leading Spas of Canada, and to participate in their Quality Assurance Assessment program. The L Spa successfully completed the rigorous assessment and has since been in good standing with this organization, offering patrons peace of mind that this is a company that exceeds industry standards to deliver exceptional service.
The L Spa prides itself on having a qualified team of professionals, only adding new members to the team who have received the training and qualifications required to uphold the high level of service and excellence that the L Spa has come to be known for.

High quality skin care lines such as Luzern Laboratories, Comfort Zone, Jane Iredale, Aromatherapy Associates, Eminence Organic Skin Care, Neuma, Eufora, and more, entice guests by offering a multitude of corrective solutions. L Spa team members regularly receive training on each of the aforementioned lines to serve guests to the best of their ability. The L Spa is an Eminence Green Spa, showing its commitment to environmental sustainability. The L Spa also feels strongly about their community, women, youth and education, supporting numerous organizations locally and internationally on an ongoing basis.
As a full service Day Spa, in conjunction with an array of spa packages, guests are enticed with beautiful body rituals, tranquil massage therapies, tailored facials, infrared sauna sessions, facial & body contouring and hand & foot therapies. All spa guests are encouraged to come early and stay late by unwinding in the L Spa Tranquility Lounge. Relax, recline and allow the ambient setting to provide soul nurturing restoration. Raindrop shower sessions paired with steam allow spa guests to settle into their comfort zone and may be enjoyed complimentary pre or post therapy. Hush Pins provide the ultimate relaxation escape when pinned to a plush robe making spa patrons and therapists aware that the spa guest would like to enjoy a silent experience.

A Little About The “LSpa & Wellness Centre”…
The L Spa & Wellness Centre was designed with careful attention to detail. Conceptualized after numerous visits, inspections and tours to spas worldwide, the physical layout of the spa was configured to establish good chi and respect patron’s privacy. Whereas most spas fill an available retail space, this spa was custom designed to be a spa.
The overall ambiance appeals to all of your senses and features all of the elements ~ fire, water, air and earth.
Each of the treatment rooms have individualized names (“Indulgence”, “Serenity”, “Tranquility”, “Infinity”, “Swept Away” and “Meditation”). Each of these have their own lighting, sound, heating & cooling controls.
There is a dedicated “couples” treatment room (“Relaxation”) to be used for dual massage, facial and body therapies. The pedicure lounge (“Bliss”) can be private, or open to a group of four. It boasts state-of the-art chairs with remote controlled heat and massage options. The inner waiting room is tranquil and referred to as the “Tranquility Lounge”.
In the Wellness Centre there is a Far Infrared Sauna room (identical to the Far Infrared Sauna used by celebrity Oprah Winfrey & endorsed by Dr. Oz) and two Vibra Pro 5500’s.
Our goal is to be able to recommend and provide services, be it treatment or spa, based on the needs of our clients. We also encourage clients to make service selections based on how they feel. Everyone’s sensitivity levels vary. Facial extraction and depilatory waxing can be uncomfortable, and occasionally massage can be intense.
Our goal is total relaxation. Clear communication with clients are essential. Clients are encouraged to delight in their experience to its fullest; to come early and relax in a robe; and stay late enjoying the escape from the hustle & bustle of life; and clients are encouraged to visit often and participate in spa events. Clients are also encouraged to attach “Hush Pins” to their robes should they prefer to enjoy their treatment in silence. “Hush Pins” can be found in baskets located in the locker rooms.
Expecting clients are advised to consult with their physicians before visiting the spa. It is also expected of guests to inform the reservation specialist when they are expecting prior scheduling appointments ensuring proper treatment preparation.
We are dedicated to maintaining a serene environment, one of tranquility and relaxation, thus urging our guests to please respect each other and their right to privacy and quite. Guests are advised to turn off electronic devises & leave treasured jewellery at home when entering the spa, as we cannot be held liable for lost or stolen items. The L Spa also invites guests to make arrangements for infants and children before they arrive so that other guests may enjoy their experience to the fullest.
We offer incomparable hours of service with a very talented team. At its peak, the spa can have 15 practitioners delivering services at a time (4 pedicures, 2 manicures & 9 massage or aesthetic treatments) The Wellness Centre is equipped with a Far Infrared Sauna(5 person sauna), two Vibra Pro 5500’s, two manicure stations, and an additional therapy room.
The L Spa & Wellness Centre is open 7 days per week. The hours of operation are as follow:
Monday – Friday 9am – 8pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 6pm

The membership program encourages regularity without enforcing it. It is designed to help clients incorporate massage &/ wellness into their busy lives and saves them money as an added incentive. The membership programs have several benefits. It encourages a relationship with the client, and based on an ongoing individual assessment approach, the client and therapist can determine exact needs, map out goals and effectively monitor progress.
